On the basis of skill sets, veteran Indian pacer Ashish Nehra has congratulated Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Former RCB bowling coach Shane Warne is pleased with his former team’s current IPL 2021 results.
Royal Challengers Bangalore leads the league with eight points from four games, all of which they have won 100 percent of the time. This season, the Virat Kohli-led team is in excellent form, with excellent team chemistry. Individual results and form from players such as Kohli, De Villiers, and Maxwell have bolstered the team.
However, the season is still young, and the Bengaluru-based team must maintain their good form. Meanwhile, the Chennai Super Kings have had a successful season this time around, thanks to some key changes to their lineup. Raina and MoeenAli’s arrival has improved their team’s success.
At the moment, all franchisees are ranked first and second. They will face off in the 19th game of the IPL 2021 today at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It’ll be a thrilling matchup, as both teams have been strong this season.
Former Indian fast bowler Nehra was also the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowling coach. He praised his former franchise’s bowler and ranked him higher than Jasprit Bumrah in a recent interview.
With his genius variety and pace, Jasprit Bumrah is the new number one bowler in the cricketing world. The bowler has excelled not only in limited overs cricket, but also in test and one-day international cricket. With his natural speed and wicket-taking ability, he’ll be a vital bowler in the dying overs.
He became the first bowler to take 50 Test wickets in the shortest time possible. After Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan, Bumrah has a hat-trick in Test cricket. In the Mumbai Indians set-up, Bumrah has also been a reliable performer with the ball, especially at the death for Rohit Sharma.
Nehra, on the other hand, believes that there is a better player in India with better skill sets than Bumrah. Mohammed Siraj of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has been listed by Nehra. In contrast to the previous IPL season, the pacer has enhanced his bowling abilities.
“When you talk about talent, this has been my thought in the last three-four years,” Nehra said in a recent video with Cricbuzz. When it comes to bowlers, everybody agrees that Jasprit Bumrah is among the best. But, in all formats, I don’t believe Siraj is ahead of Bumrah in terms of skill.”
Mohammed Siraj’s strong pace, according to Nehra, can deliver in all three formats. “A couple of years back, there was talk that he was picking up 5-6 wickets in every match for India A with the red ball, and I’ve always maintained that a decent red-ball bowler, a Test match bowler, has a better chance of succeeding as a white-ball bowler.”
“There are certain bowlers that you only include for T20s, for white-ball matches,” Nehra continued. As a result, I believe Siraj is an excellent all-round bowler. There is no lack of talent in his arsenal; he can perform a wide range of tasks. If you talk about deviations, I’d say he’s also ahead of Bumrah in terms of skill.”
“He has a slower one; he doesn’t lack pace, and he can pass the new pitch. He must maintain his physical health and mental acuity. The sky is the limit if he can do these two things well.”
