A report stated that Indian team is going to play 16 ODIs, 14 Tests and 23 T20Is from January to December in the year of 2021. Due to the pandemic situation India was lack of action in the year of 2020 but it is considered that 2021 is going to make them way busier in appearing as the national duty. At the very start of the year 2020, India had a match with Sri Lanka and the Australia with home series before going for the New Zealand tour.
Busy Schedule for Indian Team in 2021
According to the reports, India is going to play 16 ODIs, 23 T20Is and 14 Tests in 2021. With reference with this they are also take part in the ICC T20 World Cup and Asia Cup in October and June respectively at home in next year that is 2021.
“We understand it will be tough on the players but we are obligated to honor FTP commitments. We have a bigger pool of talent now and players. WE will make sure players get ample rest before called in for India duties. Rotation policy will surely come into play,” one BCCI official stated as given by Inside Sport.
Here is the given schedule for Indian Team mentioned below-
- From January to March, Home Series against England:
India will kick start the series by hosting England for 4 T20Is, ODIs and Tests respectively.
- From April to May, IPL 2021 will be conducted.
Due to the last conduction of IPL in this year, next year IPL slot will be as same as of every year that is from April to May.
- Asia Cup and Sri Lanka Tour
After the end of IPL2021, India will move towards for three match ODI series and five match T20Is series against Sri Lanka and Asian cup will be also led by the same nation.
- Zimbabwe Tour
Three matches of ODIs series will be there in Zimbabwe.
- England Tour
5 matches Test Series will be there in England from July to September.
- In October, India will host South Africa
After the test series with England, India will host South Africa for 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs.
- ICC T20 World Cup 2021
From October to November, the arrival of biggest tournament of the year will be there which is going to be hosted by India.
- Home Series against New Zealand
From November to the mid of the December, India is going to host New Zealand for 3 T20Is and 2 Tests.
- South Africa Tour
By the end of the year, India will travel to South Africa for T20IS and 3 Tests
