Pat Cummins and David Warner rule out of Limited Overs series against Indian Team, replacement named

It is notable to say that Australia were the dominating side in this series as they had outshone Indian team in all three departments and won the series and took a lead by 2-0. Now Australia is just waiting for that last one game to clean sweep Indian team in the Australian soil and clinch the trophy. As after the match, a bad news has been established in the Australian camp that Pat Cummins and David Warner will be ruled out of the remaining match of the white ball cricket. This is officially announced by Cricket Australia on Monday. Cricket Australia had announced the replacement for David Warner as that will be Australian left hand batsman D’Arcy Short who will be going to be included in the squad for the final and third ODIs match of the series.

During the second ODI against India played in Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), Australian opener had conquered a groin injury. The injury seems to be sustain for few days and it will definitely make him unavailable for the remaining match. The injury was occurred during the 4th over of the second inning while had a tumbling in the field to save single which was hit by Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan.

Afterwards that he doesn’t return to the ground to field, thus it clarifies that he wont be there in the last match of the series. He has returned to home for start the rehabilitation procedure for the upcoming Test series which will commence from 17th December 2020.

While on the other hand, Pat Cummins will also miss the remaining match against India. There is nothing like any injury concern for him, as the speedster has been given rest due to regular involvement in cricket since September. He was included in the England series which was held in September then he played Indian Premier League which was held in UAE that took place for almost of 2 months and now played two ODIs of the series.

So Cricket Australia management had decided to give him some rest so he can perform well in the most anticipated Test series.

Short has been named as the replacement of David Warner whereas no replacement is be issued for Pat Cummins. Short is been undergoing training session since flying from Perth to avoid any potential closures with Hobart Hurricanes, BBL Franchise.

Justin Langer, Head Coach of Australia justifies they need to be recovered and give enough rest as  the duo is much important and mandatory for the coming Test series.

“Pat and Davie are critical to our plans for the Test series,” quoted by Justin Langer.

“Davie will work through his injury rehab and in Pat’s case it is important all of our key players are managed well to keep them mentally and physically fit throughout what is challenging summer”.

“The priority for both is being fully prepared for one of the most and biggest Important home Test series we have played in recent years, especially with World Test Championship points up for grabs,” stated by Justin Langer.

Furthermore Australian team had clinched the series by defeating Indian team for second time in a row of three matches series
