Earlier Pravin Tambe became the oldest player to take part in the IPL auction and KKR bought him during the Indian Premier League 2020 Auction. But it’s Sad for Kolkata Knight Riders team that Pravin Tambe ineligible to take part in IPL 2020 because of BCCI’s laws.
According to BCCI’s laws, any player won’t take part in the Indian Premier League if he plays in overseas leagues, only a retired player takes part in overseas leagues. Recently Table featured in the Abu Dhabi T10 league along with Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement from IPL, so he can able to play in overseas leagues. Pravin Tambe started his IPL career with Rajasthan Royals.
Now Board of Cricket of control of India(BCCI) has confirmed that Pravin Tabme ineligible to take part in IPL 2020
“He [Tambe] won’t be allowed otherwise we have to allow everyone,” IPL chairman Brijesh Patel said.
The BCCI doesn’t allow active players to take part in T10 or T20 tournaments organised by another board. Only retired players can participate in these tournaments.“The board only allow players to play in one day, three days, four days and county cricket and each player has to seek BCCI and respective state association’s no-objection certificate,” Patel said.
“The case with T10 and T20 is different,” he added.
Kolkata Knight Riders has won the Indian Premier League title twice in the leadership of Gautam Gambhir in 2012 and 2014. In the last two season, Dinesh Karthik to lead the team and he continues to lead the team.
Dinesh Karthik started to lead the KKR team in IPL 2018 and he successfully qualified his team in the play-offs of IPL 2018 but failed to repeat the same in 2019.
Kolkata Knight Riders will kick off the Indian Premier League 2020 on March 31 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
