It seems that Prithvi Shaw has hurt his shoulder during Ranji Trophy clash. He is about to leave for New Zealand with the India A team. He was playing for Mumbai against Karnataka at the Bandra Kurla Complex ground. In the third session of the game, he dived to save an overthrow and hurt his shoulder badly. He was immediately taken out of the ground and given treatment by the physio.
Prithvi Shaw is selected in the India A squad for New Zealand tour and the team will leave on January 10. He is part of limited overs team as well as four day matches, which are to be played there.
At the end of the day, Mumbai skipper Suryakumar Yadav said that Shaw looked good. A source from Mumbai team also said that Prithvi went under MRI Scan.
Yadav said to reporters, “He (Shaw) looks better. Looking at him on the ground, it was not looking good but now I think he is looking good. Later on I will get to know from the physio on what exactly the situation is (with regard to him).”
Prithvi Shaw last played for Indian team in his debut test series against West Indies in October, 2018. Where he scored 237 runs at an average of 118.5 runs in 3 innings. He hit a century and a half-century in those three innings.
He was part of Indian team that toured Australia earlier last year. But was ruled out of playing XI due to an injury during practice sessions before the test matches. Then he was banned for 8 months from cricket when he failed in dope tests. His 8 months back-dated ban ended on November 15.
He has not been selected for limited overs Indian team yet and is part of Delhi Capitals in Indian Premier League
