R Ashwin suggests a new Rule

Rajasthan Royals Batsman Jos Buttler unusual run out (mankading) by R Ashwin was a big surprise for cricketing world. However, Ashwin had the every legal right to do this but as a respectable cricketer it was not expected by him. The incident took place in RR vs KXIP match in IPL 2019. The incident took place in the 13th over while RR was batting. R Ashwin while bowling his fourth and last over of the spell, stopped and took the bails off from non-striker end wickets while Jos Buttler was out of the crease. As per the law, the third umpire declared Jos Buttler out. However, as per the spirit of game these types of decisions have always raised eyebrows.

A few days ago, Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting said that he won’t allow to use Mankad during the Indian Premier League 2020. There after R Ashwin comes up with a new rule.

“Make it a free ball for the bowler. If the batsmen gets out of that ball, the batting team will be docked 5 runs. Free hit adds to the drama for a batter, let’s give a chance to the bowlers too. As of now everyone watches the game hoping that ‘the bowlers will get smacked today,” R ashwin on Twitter.

“Ricky Ponting hasn’t yet reached (Dubai). After he comes, we will sit for a chat with him. He said he wants to have a conversation. We have already spoken over the phone. It was a very interesting chat,”Ravichandran Ashwin said in his new ‘Hello Dubaiahh?’ YouTube show.

“What happens sometimes is Australians’ messages in English get lost in translation and reach us with a different meaning. Even some of their jokes become news. That’s what it is and next week I will reveal a bit more about my conversation with Ricky,” he added.
