Rahul Dravid has been designated as the following Head Coach of the Indian cricket crew. Dravid will assume control over the reins from active coach Ravi Shastri after the 2021 version of the T20 World Cup.
Also, Dravid was asked regarding who he needs as the following white-ball commander of the Indian cricket crew. Also, to that, the 48-year-old said that his best option would be Rohit Sharma, while his subsequent choice would be KL Rahul.
“Who do you see as the next Indian white-ball captain?” was one of the questions for Dravid. His first choice was Sharma followed by KL Rahul,” quoted in the given reports of The Indian Express.
Rahul Dravid said that it is an honour to be designated as the Head Coach of the Indian cricket team, and added that the Indian side worked really hard under Ravi Shastri. Adding that the players have the energy to work on consistently, Dravid closed by expressing that he is anticipating working with the players and the care staff of the Indian group.
“It is an absolute honour to be appointed as the new Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team and I am really looking forward to this role. Under (outgoing head coach) Mr (Ravi) Shastri, the team has done very well, and I hope to work with the team to take this forward.
Having worked closely with most of the boys either at NCA, U 19 and India A set-up, I know they have the passion and desire to improve every day. There are some marquee multi-team events in the next two years, and I look forward to working with the players and the support staff to achieve our potential,” added by Dravid.
Rahul Dravid addressed India in 164 Tests and 344 ODIs. While he scored 13288 runs in Tests, the right-hander amassed 10889 runs in the ODI format of the game. Dravid played his last game for India in the year 2012.
