Ravichandran Ashwin Likely to be released by Kings XI Punjab


IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab has not won the Indian premier league title yet. They have failed to reach into the play-offs in the last two season of IPL. Ravichandran Ashwin was leading Kings XI Punjab in the last two seasons, but he was unable to qualify the team for the play-offs. Kings XI Punjab bought Ravichandran Ashwin in the IPL auction 2018 and made him captain. But the franchise hasn’t impressed with his captaincy because many times he failed to qualify his team for the play-off after a good start of IPL.

According to reports of Mumbai Mirror, Kings XI Punjab may have released him before the Indian premier league 2020. After this, KL Rahul may lead the KXIP in the upcoming season of IPL.

Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals are eyeing to trade Ravinchanran ashen before the IPL 2020. Delhi capitals also interested to trade Ajinkya Rahane in the team for Rajasthan Royals. Steve Smith led the RR team in the Indian premier league 2019 after the later half of IPL 2019. Shreyas Iyer is leading the DC team to form the last two seasons. Delhi reached in the playoffs of IPL 2019 after a long time.

R Ashwin is not part of playing XI of the first test vs Windies

Team India is playing the two matches test series against West Indies. Currently, the first test is going underway. Ashwin was not included in the playing XI of the first test. After that many of cricket fraternity was not happy with this decision.

Sunil Gavaskar said about Ravichandran Ashwin’s exclusion on commentary: “[The selection] astonished me. A man with that kind of record, especially against the West Indies. He doesn’t find a place in this playing XI. That is stunning. Astonishing.”
