Few days back, every franchises has finally released some players from their team to the auction list and few of them are retained back. With this, now only window trade policy is open for the franchises before the commencement of the mini-auction which is scheduled in the month of February.
Former New Zealand Cricketer Scott Styris has depicted concern over the call taken by Yellow Army on the retention of those players who are almost having age more than 30+ or those who had retired from the format. This call has been termed to be risky one. Players which are released Kedhar Jadhav, Harbhajan Singh, Murali Vijay and Piyush Chawla.
Talking on them they are more players who got retained whom having age factor more than of 30.
Players like MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Faf du Plessis, Imran Tahir and Ambati Rayudu has been retained by the team as considered to be the core players.
“Where is that spine coming for CSK?”: Styris
“I think they are in big trouble. The players they released were expected to be the older players in the squad. I think a couple are there but who are the backbones? Where is that spine coming from CSK?” quoted by Scott Styris on a show conducted by Star Sports.
He is denying the fact that management has taken to consider those players to the retention list who are retired from the international cricket and thus making less space for those players who are just new to the format.
Chennai need more young talents for the coming editions, mentioned by MS Dhoni as said by Scott Styris.
“When you look at that top order, they aren’t playing a lot of cricket, so I think CSK have a lot of work ahead of them. The auction is a big part of that, not only for this year but next too”.
“I think their hands are tied a little bit. In reality, the storyline for the last three years has been about old is gold and the ageing side that CSK has. But that was always going to come back and bite them”, said by Styris.
Right now franchise has left out with six slots for the players from which one is filled for overseas and team should look for young players who can promote team for coming more editions.
