The countdown to biggest Cricket Carnival ‘#Dream11 IPL 2020’ has begun. With barely a couple of days to the inaugural match, Cricket Analysts and Pundits are out with their prophecies, analysis, stats and trivia.
The franchises and players have stacked up their arms and resources to all out from first match itself. Never before, in 13-years of the tournament, Players have stayed and trained together prior to the tournament for 30 days. No doubt, they would have been raring to go after almost 6 months of no competitive cricket.
Former greats and brains of the game have already started making bold predictions. Latest in the list is New Zealand’s former all-rounder and esteemed cricket analyst Scott Styris, who has predicated positions of different franchises after completion of league stage in IPL 2020.

Posting a tweet on Monday, Scott Styris predicted the team’s position based on their squad make-up and the conditions in UAE. The all-rounder has prophesised that Delhi Capitals will top the charts after league stages in IPL 2020. This would have come as greater surprise to many, but Capitals have the fire power and potential to beat any team in the tournament. Also, the slow track of UAE are likely to help DC spinners.
Number 2 on his list is Mumbai Indians – the most successful team of IPL. But they are also well known for starting slow in the tournament. Dinesh Karthik’s KKR takes the Number 3 position. One of the fearsome teams on paper- with Russell, Morgan, Cummins, Narine and Karthik in first XI- KKR’s chances will largely depend on how their bowling attack masters the condition in UAE.
The daddy’s army and last year’s runner up CSK make the fourth position in table. Scott, who has played for CSK in the past, is slightly doubtful of CSK’s prowess especially after Raina and Harbhajan has left IPL 2020.
In the bottom half, Styris has placed SRH at No.5. SRH have one of the strongest foreign contingents with the likes of Warner, Bairstow, Rashid, Nabi, Williamson making the list. But their middle and lower middle order do not have proven names to make a fiery batting line up.
Surprisingly, Styris has placed Virat Kohli-led RCB at sixth place; above the KXIP, who has got a wonderful Indian batting core with impressive foreign players. Over the years, RCB has lacked quality and options in their bowling and this time they would hope to do well.
KXIP and RR are placed at 7th and 8th positions respectively. While KXIP can be as destructive as anyone on their day, RR possesses great variety and quality with the likes of Steve Smith, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, and Jofra Archer in their ranks.
