Before the commencement of the first ODIs, Indian camp got struck with a bad news as visitors star Wicketkeeper Sanju Samson won’t play the first match due to the injury.
He has sprained the ligament in his knee which made him unavailable for the initial match of the white ball format.
It is also not known he would be available for the upcoming matches. There are no more updates over his issues.
Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Kumar got their debut cap
In the first ODI against Sri-Lanka, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav received their debut cap. Ishan Kishan became the second Indian Player to receive a maiden cap on his birthday as well. It will be a huge day for both the players to maintain their strong contention.
While on the other hand, Sri-Lanka won the toss and elected to field first, as Bhanuka Rajapaksa is the debutant for Lankans.
