After unexpected termination of IPL-2021, now BCCI is looking to put more efforts in building up new team formation for the Sri-Lankan Tour. Indian team will play 3 ODIS and 3 T20Is against Sri Lanka during this tour. It is said that BCCI is aiming to bring a second string team for the clash as the main team players will be busy in playing finals against New-Zealand for ICC Test Championship.
According to Inside Sport, India’s No.4 batsman Shreyas Iyer is probably going to miss ODI and T20 arrangement against Sri Lanka that is scheduled to occur in July. He is probably not going to recuperate from a left-arm injury that he had supported during the ODI arrangement against England in March recently.
The Delhi Capitals captain was a strong competitor to lead India without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma however injury will constrain him to be down and out. The BCCI clinical staff trusts Iyer to be good for the impending T20 World Cup in September.
A month ago, he went through an effective medical procedure of the harmed shoulder that he supported against England in the ODI arrangement.
Shreyas Iyer had halfway disengaged his shoulder while handling during the first ODI of the England arrangement in March.
This was the third time since IPL 2020 that Iyer had harmed the left shoulder and it will be a major concern for him as there are more players who are now being more in the contention list.
“He first suffered the injury first during last year’s IPL. It flared up during the Australia tour, and then he was fit after rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). However, he hurt his shoulder again during the England series when he dived on the advertising mat while fielding inside the circle. He should be fit in time for the T20 World Cup,” stated by Source in Times Of India.
