Star Player came as a replacement for injured Obed McCoy

West Indies have gotten their ex captain Jason Holder to their T20 WC crew as a replacement for the injured left-arm seamer Obed McCoy.

Obed McCoy, who played in West Indies’ initial installation against England, has been administered out of the rest of the competition because of a right shin injury which is observed recently.

Holder’s expansion to the crew has formally been endorsed by the ICC. He was at that point in the UAE as a reserve player and is available for choice in West Indies’ next installation, against Bangladesh on Friday (October 29).

“Jason Holder has been in the UAE for a while now and will fit quite well into the team unit,” said by West Indies Selector Roger Harper.

“He is an experienced and knowledgeable cricketer who we know will be eager and excited to grab the opportunity”

“McCoy did really well in the T20Is earlier this year and adapted well in the opening match against England. He was a key member of the bowling unit and it’s unfortunate he won’t be able to take any further part in the tournament. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the field ready to go again in the near future.”Added by him.

Reigning champs West Indies have lost their initial two games in the wake of being bowled out for a small 55 in a six-wicket route to England, trailed by an eight-wicket rout because of South Africa.
