Sri Lanka Cricket today reported that authorisation has been conceded to National Players Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga to partake in the Indian Premier League 2021.
The consent for the players was conceded by the SLC in conference with the Technical Advisory Committee.
The ‘No Objection Certificate’ to the duo was given for them to join the IPL groups beginning from fifteenth September (following the fulfilment of the South Africa Tour of Sri Lanka).
The kind of performance RCB has shown in the first phase of IPL 2021, it is likely that they will enter the playoffs. They had already won five of the seven matches and stood at the third spot, just behind Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings respectively.
Virat Kohli and co members will aim to thrive this opportunity and make themselves available at the first two spots.
The two players will join the Sri Lanka crew on tenth October 2021 to play in the two warm-up games before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers.
The two players won’t be accessible for the IPL end of the season games if their group RCB fit the bill for it.
It will be a concern for the RCB camp as if these two vital players go out of the tournament when they need the most, the team management would definitely see a back up plan for these two players as well.
Right now Hasaranga will be a more demanding player for them due to his excellent performance in the shortest format. So keeping an all rounder in the team will boost their epitome success as well.
According to the Cricwire Sources, the two players will likewise miss the Sri Lanka group’s visit through Oman where Sri Lanka will play 2 T20s toward the beginning of October.
