There was bit of conspiracy when Rohit Sharma was excluded from the squad for the Australia Tour. The absence of Hitman in the team is a major concern as he had gone through a hamstring injury during Indian Premier League 2020 against Kings XI Punjab in the league stage. Because of the injury he stayed out a few league matches during the IPL 2020.
The kind of injury he faced was a major concern at that, it even concluded to the report that he may pull out his name from the tournament which will eventually effect the international matches also. But within a few matches later Rohit again stepped out to the ground and led the team to 5th time title winner in this IPL 2020. With having injury he played the tournament which wasn’t a right call to keeping the national team aside and focusing upon the franchises base.
Furthermore he was even selected for the Indian Test Team squad for the Border-Gavaskar series. Things been more complicated when his injury stood up in front of his tour and making him again unavailable for the series. He didn’t join the team when his teammates bound towards Australia from UAE. He returned to India and now he is undergoing rehabilitation at National Cricket Academy (NCA) at Bangalore.
ROHIT SHARMA AND ISHANT SHARMA ARE RULED OUT OF FIRST TWO TEST SERIES MATCH AGAINST AUSTRALIA DUE TO 14-DAY QUARANTINE NORMS
Due to the ongoing injury of Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma made them unavailable for the first two test series against Australia. It is still unclear that will they both join team at adequate time or not? According to the sources, it is been predicted out that they both may join the team for the last two test series . They will miss the initial series due to the 14 day quarantine norms regulated by Australian Government and the Cricket Australia.
Fans are in a lot of conspiracy to know why Rohit travelled to India rather than joining his teammates ahead of Australian series.
According to senior cricket journalist Boria Majumdar, stated that Rohit’s decision to go back to India wasn’t for related to any fitness issue. Boria Majumdar in a recent interview with Sports Today stated that due to his ailing father, Rohit returned to Mumbai.
“ROHIT’S FATHER IN MUMBAI SUFFERING FROM COVID”- BORIA MAJUMDAR.
“The reason Rohit didn’t travel with the team to Australia, came back to Mumbai with Mumbai Indians is because of his father had COVID,” quoted by Boria Majumdar to Sports Today.
“If he didn’t want to play the red ball cricket series, he wouldn’t have gone to the NCA. He could have easily stayed back with his wife (Ritika) and family. So there is absolutely no reason to say that Rohit didn’t want to play the red ball series” quoted by Boria to Sports Today.
Even some sources suggests that BCCI had negotiated with Cricket Australia for relieving the quarantine norms for Ishant Sharma and Rohit Sharma. At this time both the players aren’t travelled to Australia and yet having training sessions at NCA.
