Just like that with the addition of two new franchises that are Lucknow and Ahmedabad based, a mega auction is on the notes to be conducted. According to the TOI Sources, it is said that IPL Mega Auction 2022 might take place in the last week of December or in the very first week of January 2022.

Each and every franchise are eagerly waiting for this moment and even though all the franchises have finally taken out their retention policy and bought their star players again to their respective campaigns, some of the fellows are left out for the auction.
Talking about that, Two Star Indian Players are likely to not take part in this mega auction event due to their call up towards new franchises and those players are Indian players like KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer.
According to the TOI Sources, it is said that KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are likely to not take part in the mega auction as they are approached by the new franchises.
KL Rahul has been approached by Lucknow Franchise and Shreyas Iyer has been approached by Ahmedabad Franchise respectively, according to the TOI Sources.
KL Rahul was the skipper of Punjab Kings from few seasons but with his personal decision to part ways from the management, Punjab Kings hasn’t retained him, whereas Shreyas Iyer who was the initial skipper of Delhi Capitals was ruled out due to injury In the last season of Phase-1 was played the remaining tournament as the player and Delhi Capitals didn’t retained him which eventually led him to leave the franchise.
