It’s Two Sundays and Two epic thrillers, both including KXIP, in #Dream11 IPL2020. While we witnessed a tie of first Sunday, Rajasthan Royals pulled off highest ever chase in IPL history yesterday. It was a day full of power packed action, a stunning T20 hundred, effortless hitting, and a painful struggling innings that saw a magical turnaround in span of 12 balls.

Playing on a placid track of Iconic Sharjah, both teams took advantage of short dimensions of the ground as they scored 449 runs off just 237 balls, hitting 33 boundaries and as many as 29 sixes. Batting first, KXIP started really well as Mayank Agarwal played the aggressor and captain KL Rahul played the anchor.

Mayank played a magnificent innings of 106 runs off 50 balls to put on 183 runs opening wicket partnership inside 17 overs. However, four good overs from Ankit Rajpoot and Tom Curran means KXIP were struggling to finish on a high. KXIP had also lost both of its set batsmen, bringing Maxwell and Pooran on the crease. This is when Jofra Archer came to bowl 20th over and Nicholas Pooran hit 2 sixes and a boundary to finish on a high.

Rajasthan Royals didn’t start well in the chase as they lost Buttler early. However, this was starting of yet another wonderful innings from Sanju Samson. The 25-year old along with Steven Smith counterattacked KXIP bowlers as they put on 81 run partnership off just 42 balls to set the chase on.

After Smith holed out at deep cover, RR management sent in Rahul Tewatia to counter leg-spin duo of Murugan Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi. The decision seemed to be an utter disappointment as Tewatia struggled to lay bat on the ball. This increased pressure on Sanju Samson and he too succumbed to pressure to leave RR at 161-3 in 16.1 overs. With Tewatia looking out of touch – scratching his way to 8 off 19 balls – and Robin not in great form, the chase looked anything but over. But the night wasn’t over yet as Cricket witnessed one of the most dramatic turnarounds as Tewatia and Jofra Archer hit 8 sixes in next 12 balls to bring RR on driver’s seat.

If the drama unfolded above was less, Jofra Archer brought yet another thrill when some of his old tweets about Nicholas Pooran got viral.
