Yesterday RCB win against KXIP was their first win of IPL 2019. Before it they have lost 6 matches consecutively. It was one the happiest moment for RCB and their fans. This win will boost confidence of players and make their morale high in upcoming matches.
Virat Kohli won the toss and selected to field first as always because Kohli loves to chase. Opening pair of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle came to batting for KXIP but could not establish a strong partnership as KL Rahul felt down at just 18 runs. Although, Chris Gayle scored an unbeaten 99 runs and fell just 1 run short from his century. He led his team to score of 173 runs but no other player was able to cross even 18 runs mark.
Coming to batting, RCB opened with Parhiv Patel and Virat Kohli. Parthiv Patel got out at just 19 runs but Virat Kohli smashed 67 runs in 53 balls before getting out. On other end AB de Villiers was batting very aggressively. He smashed unbeaten 59 runs in 38 balls and led his team to victory. He was awarded player of the match.
Now coming back to our real story, after this match Virat kohli was fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining slow over rate. He became the third captain in IPL 2019 to be slapped a fine for their team maintaining a slow over-rate. Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma and Rajasthan Royals’ Ajinkya Rahane have previously fined for their team’s slow over-rate.
IPL issued a statement that
“Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 match against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali on 13th April 2019. As it was his team’s first offense of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offenses, Mr. Kohli was fined Rs 12 lakh.”
